Choosing an engagement ring is a very personal decision. Our collection brings together carefully selected diamond engagement rings in classic and contemporary designs, with options to suit different tastes, budgets and preferences.

Lab Grown and Natural Diamond Engagement Rings

Malcolm Cooper Jewellery offers engagement rings featuring both Lab Grown and Natural diamonds. Both are genuine diamonds with essentially the same physical, chemical and optical properties; the fundamental difference is their origin.

Lab Grown diamonds can offer exceptional size and quality for the price, while Natural diamonds appeal to those who particularly value rarity, geological origin and the extraordinary journey involved in their formation. Neither is inherently the better choice — the right diamond is the one that best reflects your own priorities.

If you would like to understand the differences in more detail, read our Lab Grown vs Natural Diamonds Guide.

Choosing an Engagement Ring Style

The setting can make as much difference to the character of an engagement ring as the diamond itself. Our collection includes timeless solitaire engagement rings, halo designs that surround the centre stone with additional diamonds, elegant trilogy rings and more contemporary styles.

Diamond shape also has a considerable influence on appearance. Round brilliant remains an enduring favourite, while oval, emerald, pear, cushion and other cuts each create a distinctive look. Elongated shapes can provide particularly impressive finger coverage, while a classic round brilliant offers exceptional sparkle and timeless appeal.

Our Engagement Ring Guide explores the different things to consider when choosing a ring.

Carat, Cut, Colour and Clarity

Carat weight is only one consideration when choosing a diamond engagement ring. Cut, colour, clarity, shape, proportions and setting all contribute to how the finished ring looks on the hand. A larger carat weight does not automatically make one diamond more beautiful than another, and small differences between certificate grades may be far less noticeable than the quality of the cut and overall design.

Where an independent grading report is supplied, the product details clearly identify the certification and diamond specifications so that you know exactly what you are considering.

White Gold, Yellow Gold and Platinum

Our diamond engagement rings are available in a selection of precious metals including white gold, yellow gold and platinum. Your choice affects not only the appearance of the ring but also how it complements the diamond, a future wedding ring and other jewellery worn alongside it.

Yellow gold provides a warm traditional contrast with a white diamond, while white gold and platinum create a cooler, more contemporary appearance in which the setting can visually blend with the diamond.

You can compare the different options in our Precious Metal Guide.

Finding the Right Ring Size

Choosing the correct size is particularly important with an engagement ring. Our Ring Size Guide explains how to establish the appropriate UK ring size, including when the ring is intended as a surprise.

Exceptional Jewellery Without High Street Overheads

Malcolm Cooper Jewellery operates online without the expensive premises and overheads associated with traditional High Street jewellery retailing. This allows us to offer carefully selected fine jewellery at prices substantially below the typical High Street price of comparable pieces.

Every engagement ring is clearly described and priced so that you can make an informed comparison. If you have a question about a particular ring, diamond specification, ring size or simply need some guidance, you can contact Malcolm Cooper Jewellery and speak directly to an experienced jeweller.
